Large 4to. With 2 engraved title-pages, 6 half-titles, 105 engraved plates depicting beetles, beautifully hand-coloured. With 2 engraved titles, and numerous hand coloured illustrations of coloptera The splendid plates were for the greater part engraved by Christian F.C. Kleeman, Rösel's son-in-law and adaptor and illustrator of the Dutch edition of Rösel von Rosenhof's famous work, and by Jacob A. Eisenmann. Subscription to Voet's work was invited in 1769 and publication in parts started shortly after, but was interrupted by the author's death in 1778. Only in 1804 Bakhuysen acquired the stock and all unpublished material from Voet's executors and announced his intention of completing the work, which then was finished in 1806. Bakhuysen's part in the work is recognizable by the change of font. Later an index also was published. Half calf with marbelde bordes.
